Windows are meant to be opened to let in cool fresh air from outside. However, there is one thing that our windows also lets in that none of us want - flies and insects. But is there a way to let in fresh air without the insects?
The answer is yes....there is a great way to let in air without insects coming in, and this is by using VELUX insect screens. This is the most efficient way to let in natural light and air without letting in any kind of insect.
What if my window is not a VELUX brand window? Don't worry this screen fits over the inside of the window lining, so it will fit any roof window of a similar size to the VELUX range.

Rod Controls - Choosing the right rod
Rods are available in varying lengths. If none of the standard rods are long enough, then an 100cm extension is available.
All the rods will operate a VELUX blind, but to improve the fit, you can purchase an adaptor that is fitted onto the bottom of the blind. Please bear in mind that you will require a separate adaptor for each blind you have.
VELUX Security Lock
VELUX offers a range of products and accessories with the objective of deterring entrance through the roof window beyond the general safety level. For example, the present range of standard VELUX roof windows can easily be fitted with a safety lock made of steel. You can fit this lock in the frame yourself.
When the safety device is locked, it is not possible to open the sash, but the ventilation function of the window will still work.
VELUX Safety Restrictor
When you need to restrict a roof window for safety reasons (ie for young children), then take the proper precautions and fit a VELUX safety restrictor.
A special key allows you to release the window for cleaning, and with the restrictor in place the window is still capable of being opened to provide additional ventilation.
Please note that these restrictors shoud not be used on top-hung emergency escape windows.
